  • Process Design – Separator packages, dehydrators, salt towers, fractionators, fixed bed scrubbers (sulphatreat).
  • Production Facilities Design – Emulsion gathering systems, EOR (waterflood, CO2, solvent, thermal – SAGD & conventional), heavy oil pressure and atmospheric treaters, FWKO's, produced water disposal, truck pits, natural gas gathering systems, and compressors (casing gas, system boosters, and sales).
  • Refinery / Upgrader Facilities Design – Unit and plant retrofits and debottlenecks, storage tank repairs and retrofits, truck and railcar loading / unloading / metering facilities, and control system upgrades.
  • Extensive experience in dealing with various regulatory and governmental agencies (ABSA, ERCB, AENV, TSAS, Sask Environment, SER, NEB, DFO, etc).
  • Fluent with various piping and mechanical equipment codes, guides, and recommended practices – including CSA Z662, ASME B31.3 & B31.1, ASME Section VIII & I, API 610 / 650 /653, ANSI, ASTM, NFPA, ULC, TEMA, ISA, GPSA, ASHRAE, NACE, etc.
  • Experience in design and construction with various materials and metallurgies – CS, SS (304 / 316 / 347 HF Modified / 410), Chrome Alloys, Monel, Fiberglass, HDPE, Composites (Flexpipe, Flexsteel).
  • Storage Tanks (750 barrel to 300,000 barrel) – design, construction, and retrofit, including repairs, internal / external floating roofs, geodesic domes, internal and external coatings, and insulation.
  • Pressure Vessels – design, specification, and inspection, including nozzle additions, service modifications, internal linings (spray and strip), and internal replacements (trays, random & structured packing, distributors).
  • Boilers / OTSG's – specification and installation including tube and drum replacements, water treatment systems (walnut shell, WAC, SAC, RO, etc), burner replacement / upgrades, and heat recovery systems.
  • Pipelines – design, construction, and inspection, including internal inspection program (logging), repairs (including sleeves, split clamps, and clock springs), HDPE liners, and hot taps.
  • VRU / Incinerator / Flare – design and specification, including burner upgrades and odour abatement / scrubbers.
  • Pumps – Specification, purchase, and installation of single and multistage centrifugal, plunger (PD), screw (2 & 3), progressive cavity, chemical injection, and BFW pumps.
  • Compressors – Specification and purchase of screw, reciprocating, sliding vane, and compressors (50 to 2,000 HP).
  • Instrumentation – Specification and purchase of transmitters, switches, gauges, PD meters, orifice plates, mass flowmeters, viscometers, S&W monitors, densitometers, thermowells, level radar gauges, weigh scales, metering skids, and meter proving facility.
  • Control Systems – Specification and installation of PLC's, HMI's, DCS, and SCADA systems. Relay logic burner / boiler control for steam plant.
